My New Favorite Kitchen Tool

This is my favorite new kitchen tool. It is a dough whisk made in Poland. I first saw it when Ms. L and I visited King Arthur Flour Baking Store in Vermont. I almost bought one there, but wasn't quite sure if and how I would use it. I came home while reading my favorite cookbook (A Passion for Baking) the author said that this dough whisk was one of those "must have" kitchen tools. So for my sister's birthday this month I ordered one for her. And of course I had to order one for me.

I used my whisk for the first time on Thursday to make muffins (from A Passion for Baking). I LOVE this whisk. I cannot imagine making any batter recipe without it. It easily folds the ingredients together without too much stirring which makes the batter tough. The dough doesn't get stuck in the tines like most traditional whisks either. The only trick to maintaining the whisk long-term is that you have to keep the handle oiled with mineral oil. And you can't stick it in the dishwasher.

If you like to bake, you must add this to your kitchen!
