We had so much fun. The house seems awfully quiet and lonely after they leave.
We started out by going to the BYU Museum of Art. There is an amazing exhibit there by Walter Wick. You may know him best from the "I Spy" books. We had a fun time looking to find objects in the pictures.
That evening we went to the BYU Bean Museum and participated in a program about "reptiles." We got to pet a snake and a bearded dragon lizard. I wasn't too keen on this, but I couldn't let a 7 and 11 year old know I was fearful. Ms. K is fearless!

I got my first sunburn of the season despite using sunscreen. I guess I missed a couple of spots during the application process. I discovered spray-on sunscreen, which actually works really well.
Wednesday I asked Mr. J what he wanted for breakfast. He opted out of cold cereal. He suggested German pancakes. Well, I'd have to find a recipe. I did find one in a cookbook, but he didn't think it was the correct one because the picture didn't look just right. He said we could have regular waffles if we had buttermilk syrup. Well, I had no eggs (used them the morning before in breakfast) and no buttermilk, so it was a quick trip to the grocery store. In the process of finding the buttermilk syrup recipe, I found the one for German pancakes. They actually turned out really yummy. We topped them with fresh strawberries and buttermilk syrup. YUM! I even got to use my new syrup crock that I bought at King Arthur Flour in Vermont.
On Wednesday we went miniature golfing.
Afterward we went up Provo Canyon to play and have a picnic.
Ms. K loves to take photos. I had 179 on my camera from yesterday. She had taken most of them! I also found several random photos on my cell phone camera!
